Impact
A year of AYWA, in numbers
Three programs, more than 250 applicants, 40 scholarship students, 13 projects, and more than 10 sponsors. Here is what sits behind each number.
Numbers never tell the whole story, but they do show where the effort went. Here is our past year, one figure at a time.
3 innovation programs
We delivered three Youth Innovation Programs, each scheduled around school breaks so students never had to miss class to take part.
250+ applicants
More than 250 high school students applied. Every application is a student with an idea who wants somewhere to take it, and that is the clearest sign we have that the demand is real.
40 students on full scholarships
We accepted 40 students into a full scholarship-based program. Scholarships mean cost does not stand between a motivated student and a seat in the room.
13 sector-specific projects
Those students built 13 projects across sectors including health, the environment, local agriculture, and mental health. Projects like NeuroTrack, Naqi, Baladi, and Nafas each began as a single problem statement on a whiteboard.
10+ sponsors
More than 10 sponsors engaged with our programs, alongside partners such as BuildPalestine, Madfoatcom, Ahdaf, TechnoPark, and Makani Innovation Hub. Support like theirs is what funds scholarships and puts students in rooms with people who can help them.
What we want next year's numbers to say
More students reached, more projects that keep going after demo day, and more companies working with young Palestinians on real challenges. If you want to help move those numbers, sponsor a cohort or apply for the January program.
